A inspired Montessori preschool near Annathill
Viewpark’s Montessori inspired philosophy values the understanding children gain through their own exploration.
We pair this with current early years practice, supporting outdoor discovery, creative play and the ideas children bring to nursery.
Strengthening independence in the early years
Children are encouraged to make choices and participate fully in nursery life, including helping to clear away after snacks and caring for their surroundings.
We give them time to practise, offering assistance whenever needed, so they can experience the confidence of achieving something on their own.
Outdoor play during all seasons
Young children, including our youngest babies, enjoy being outdoors in every kind of weather throughout the year.
Observing the trees and feeling the grass under their feet offers younger children new discoveries, while older ones can run, climb and dig.
When children move freely outdoors, every step develops their balance and coordination, whilst quietly developing confidence in everything they can do.
Things can become messy. Put your child in clothes appropriate for mud, and outdoor layers appropriate for the weather.
Label all their belongings. Before they start, our staff can guide you about age-appropriate things to bring.
Practical learning by means of untidy play
At our nursery near Annathill, children can investigate paint, water, sand and mud in endless exciting ways!
Encountering varied textures, pouring water and creating painted marks enable children to investigate through their senses while discovering different ways to express themselves.
Your child can test an idea, observe the result and have another go.
Our team cultivates curiosity and gives children time to explore what engages them, building confidence in their own discoveries.

Do you have a nursery waiting list?
Child vacancies can vary throughout the year! Some rooms may have availability now, while others maintain a waiting list. Get in touch with us in advance, even if you will not need a place immediately.

Certainly, as long as you tell us in advance. If we have met the individual before, they may pick up your child with your consent. If they are unknown to us, they must give us the password agreed with us before we hand over your child.
Will my kid need to be able to use the loo for the Mighty Oaks?
As children move into Mighty Oaks, we generally expect them to be toilet trained. Nevertheless, if your child has a medical condition or additional support needs, we will agree the most suitable approach with you.

We close on Good Friday and Easter Monday, the last Monday in May, the September Weekend, and for two weeks over Christmas and New Year, co-ordinating as closely as possible with North Lanarkshire school holidays. We communicate any additional closures well in advance through our newsletters.
