Children playing in the nursery garden

For more than 25 years, North Lanarkshire families have placed their trust in Viewpark Montessori Nursery to nurture children who feel secure and happy as they develop.

We make time to get to know your child, from the routines that reassure them to the subjects that spark their curiosity. They can follow those interests through play, with familiar adults nearby to support them as they grow more independent.

Our complimentary settling sessions enable you and your child to become familiar with us before their first full day.

Our three playrooms all give children space to thrive at their current stage, with activities and care tailored to their needs.

We will discuss the appropriate time for your child to move to the next room, allowing them to progress at a pace that suits them.

Little Acorns ranging from 6 weeks to 2 years

Little Acorns is a gentle, tranquil room where your infant can enjoy cuddling, floor play and first discoveries alongside people who take the time to know them well.

Consistent mealtimes create a comforting rhythm during the day, helping to foster a secure environment. Morning snack is served at 8.30 am, lunch at 11.30 am and afternoon snack at 3.00 pm.

During this period, we respond to your baby’s needs, allowing opportunities for play and sleep whenever required.

When you collect your baby, we will explain how they have eaten and slept, while sharing the small moments you have missed, helping you to feel connected to their day.

Bright Blossoms 2 to 3 years

At Bright Blossoms, inquisitive toddlers are given plentiful encouragement to try things independently.

During snack time, serving themselves drinks and locating their named peg provide simple, manageable opportunities to develop independence, with support available whenever required.

That same patience extends to toilet training. We respond to your child’s cues and work with you to keep things consistent between home and nursery.

We understand that small accidents naturally occur during learning, so we do not make a fuss.

Our caring service recognises that your child learns something new each day, and we help them to progress at a pace that suits them.

Songs, stories and daily conversations assist children in exploring unfamiliar words. If you have concerns about your child’s talking, our facility will work with you to provide the best possible support for your child.

When emotions feel too intense, we help children recognise them and learn to cope with them.

Exploring the snow in the garden

Mighty Oaks suitable for ages 3 – 5 years of age

At Mighty Oaks, we help your child build self-confidence for the transition to school and more formal education.

Everyday achievements, including tidying away their coat or requesting help from an adult, offer worthwhile practice in handling tasks on their own.

Participating together helps children as they build listening skills, learn to take turns and solve problems with their friends.

Stories, counting and early writing are carefully woven into enjoyable activities, enabling children to build these skills through play.

Deep friendships developed here frequently carry on into P1, providing familiarity at that significant next step.

Running under the trees

A Montessori childcare facility near Auchinloch

Viewpark’s Montessori inspired approach values the learning children uncover independently.

We pair this with current early years practice, encouraging outdoor discovery, creative play and the ideas children bring to nursery.

Nurturing independence from an early age

Children are encouraged to make choices and take an active part in nursery life, helping to tidy up after snacks and care for the environment around them.

We give them time to practise, with support on hand whenever they need it, so they can enjoy the confidence that arises from doing something independently.

Outside play in all season

Youngsters, including our youngest babies, are outdoors in all weathers all year round.

Watching trees and feeling the grass under their feet offers younger children new things to observe and explore, while older children are able to run, climb and dig.

Spending time being active outside enables youngsters to improve their balance and coordination while developing confidence in what they can do.

Things can become messy! Put your child in clothes you do not mind becoming muddy, with appropriate outdoor layers for the weather.

Please label all of their belongings, and before they begin, our team can always guide you on what is appropriate to bring for their age.

Practical education through tactile play

At our nursery near Auchinloch, children can explore paint, water, sand and mud in abundance.

Investigating varied textures, pouring water and creating painted marks helps them engage their senses and find new ways to express themselves.

Your child can test an idea, watch the result and have another go.

Our team encourages curiosity, allowing children time to investigate what interests them and helping them become confident in the discoveries they make for themselves.

Care and safety for every child

Our nursery near Auchinloch has a secure access system, while children are supervised during the day.

The team receives ongoing safeguarding training, alongside first aid and health and safety training.

We carry out routine risk assessments and maintain our fire safety equipment, emergency lighting, water safety measures and electrical safety checks.

Should a child suffer an accident, they get immediate comfort and first aid whenever needed.

Upon collection, we will explain and record every accident. We will telephone you straight away if a head bump or any injury requires additional attention.

Complimentary orientation sessions offered by our team

At Viewpark, we advise scheduling at least three settling sessions before your child starts their first full day at nursery.

Every session is free, and any further appointments will be arranged to suit your family’s needs.

You are welcome to stay for as long as required, though we generally recommend briefly stepping away, as this allows our friendly team and your child to start developing their own special relationship.

Comforters and dummies are also welcome.
