Bright Blossoms 2 to 3 years
At Bright Blossoms, inquisitive toddlers are enthusiastically encouraged to try things on their own!
At the snack period, pouring their own drinks and finding their named peg provide straightforward, achievable chances to develop independence, while support remains available whenever required.
The same patience is maintained during toilet training. We respond to your child’s cues and collaborate closely with you, establishing consistency between home and nursery.
Minor accidents are just part of learning, so we don’t ever make a fuss!
Our compassionate service acknowledges that your little one learns something new every day, and we will support them as they develop at a pace that suits them.
Songs, stories and daily conversations help children to explore and practise new vocabulary. If you have concerns about your child’s speech, our facility will work closely with you to offer the most appropriate support.
When emotions become too intense, we help children recognise, understand, and process them.
Mighty Oaks for children aged 3 up to 5 yrs
At Mighty Oaks, we help your child in developing the confidence required to progress into school and increasingly formal education.
Everyday achievements, like hanging up their coat or asking an adult for help, provide useful practice in managing things independently.
Joint play helps children build listening skills, practise taking turns and solve problems with their friends.
Through enjoyable play, children discover stories, counting and early writing, building these skills while enjoying themselves.
Close friendships made here often carry into P1, which makes that important next step feel familiar.

A child-led early years centre near Calderbank
Viewpark’s Montessori inspired approach cherishes the learning children uncover independently.
We incorporate this into contemporary early years practice, providing space for outdoor exploration, creative play and the ideas children bring to nursery.
Nurturing independence from the beginning
Children are supported to make choices and participate actively in nursery life by helping clear away after snacks and caring for their surroundings.
We give them time to practise, with support on hand whenever they need it, so they can enjoy the confidence that arises from doing something on their own.
Open-air activities in any seasons
Children, including our youngest babies, spend time outdoors in all weathers throughout the year.
Observing trees and sensing the grass beneath their feet gives younger children new things to observe and investigate, while older children can run, climb and dig.
The ability to move about freely outside enables children to develop their balance and coordination, while building confidence in their own abilities.
Things can get wonderfully messy! Please dress your child in clothing appropriate for mud, as well as outdoor layers suited to the weather.
Please label all their belongings, and before they begin, our team can always advise you on what is suitable to bring for their age.
Practical study through messy recreation
At our nursery near Calderbank, children can explore paint, water, sand and mud in abundance.
Touching varied textures, experimenting with water and creating painted marks promotes sensory discovery and offers new ways for them to communicate.
Your child can test an concept, see the result, and then retry.
Our team encourages curiosity, giving children time to explore topics that engage them and build confidence in what they discover independently.
Welfare and safety for every child

The team participates in continuous training in safeguarding, first aid, and health and safety.
We carry out regular risk assessments, maintain our fire safety equipment and complete checks for emergency lighting, water safety and electrical safety.
When a child has an accident, staff offer immediate comfort and provide first aid if necessary.
We record every accident and discuss it during collection. Any head bump or injury requiring further attention leads to an immediate call to you.
No-cost resettlement consultations from our team
At Viewpark, we recommend booking at least three settling sessions prior to your child attends nursery for their first full day.
Every session is entirely free, and we will organise any extra appointments to suit your family’s requirements.
You’re welcome to remain for as long as you need, though we typically suggest stepping away for a short while, as this is where our friendly team and your child start forming their own special bond.
Comforters and dummies are welcome as well.

Commonly asked queries about our nursery school near Calderbankhurst
Exactly what does Montessori mean at Viewpark Nursery?
Originally established as a Montessori nursery, we have retained its emphasis on independence, curiosity, respect and practical learning. Although we are no longer exclusively Montessori, we unite these principles with contemporary early years practice, tailoring our approach to each child’s interests.
Do you have a nursery waiting list?
The availability for child places varies throughout the year. Some rooms might have immediate vacancies, while others maintain a waiting list. We suggest contacting us early, even if you do not need a place immediately.
May an alternative person collect my child?
Yes, as long as you tell us in advance. If we have met the person before, they may pick up your child with your permission. If they are unfamiliar to us, they must provide the password agreed with us before we hand over your child.
Will my kid have to be toilet-trained for Mighty Oaks class?
As children progress to Mighty Oaks, we generally ask that they are toilet trained. If your child has a medical condition or additional support needs, we will identify the most suitable approach together with you.
During which periods is the childcare centre closed?
Our doors close on Good Friday and Easter Monday, the final Monday in May, the September Weekend, and for two weeks over Christmas and New Year, aligning as closely as possible with North Lanarkshire school holidays. We announce any further closures well in advance via our newsletters.
