Give your child a confident beginning with Montessori inspired care from six weeks to five years.
For over 25 years, North North Lanarkshire families have placed their trust in Viewpark Montessori Nursery to help their children feel secure and content as they develop.
We take time to understand your child, from the routines that comfort them to the interests that spark their curiosity. They can explore those interests through play, with familiar adults close by as they learn to become more independent.
Our complimentary settling sessions allow you and your child to familiarise yourselves with us before attending their first full day.

A nursery centre adjacent to Chryston with a trio of rooms
Our three playrooms all provide children with room to flourish at their current stage, supported by attentive care and suitable activities.
We’ll discuss with you once they’re prepared to move into the next room, enabling every child to take this step at their own pace.
Little Acorns aged 6 weeks to 2 years
Little Acorns is a little calm room where your baby can have cuddles, floor play and early discoveries with people who know them well.
Consistent mealtimes establish a reassuring day-to-day rhythm, helping to foster a safe environment, with morning snack at 8.30 am, lunch at 11.30 am and afternoon snack at 3.00 pm.
Throughout, we attend to your baby’s needs, making room for play and letting them sleep whenever they need it.
When you collect your baby, we will talk about how they have eaten and slept, and share the small moments you have missed, helping you feel part of their day as well.
Bright Blossoms between 2 and 3 years
At Bright Blossoms, curious toddlers are given ample encouragement to try things independently.
At snack time, filling their own drinks and finding their named peg offer simple, achievable opportunities to develop independence, while support remains available whenever required.
We take the same calm approach to toilet training. We respond to your child’s cues and work with you to preserve consistency between home and nursery.
Small accidents are a natural part of learning, so we consistently respond calmly.
Each day offers your child a fresh discovery, and our supportive service is here to help and guide them at a pace that feels right.
Songs and daily conversations, along with stories, help children explore unfamiliar words. If you have concerns regarding your child’s speech, our facility will collaborate with you to offer the most effective support.
When emotions feel overwhelming, we support children to recognise, name and work through them.
Mighty Oaks suitable for ages 3 – 5 years
At Mighty Oaks, we foster your child’s self-confidence, preparing them for the transition into school and the more formal world of education.
Everyday successes, like hanging up their coat or seeking help from an adult, offer useful practice in handling things independently.
Joint play teaches children to listen, wait for their turn and resolve problems with their friends.
Stories, counting and early writing become part of the activities they love, allowing these important skills to flourish naturally through play.
Close friendships made here often carry into P1, providing reassurance during that important transition.

A child-led inspired nursery close to Chryston
Viewpark’s Montessori inspired approach honours what children discover independently.
We blend this with contemporary early years practice, making room for outdoor exploration, creative play and the ideas children bring to nursery.
Encouraging autonomy from an early age
Children are urged to make choices and take full part in life at nursery, including helping to clear away after snacks and looking after their surroundings.
We allow them time to practise, providing support as needed, so they can enjoy the confidence developed from doing things independently.
Open-air play throughout each season
All year round, children, including the very youngest babies, spend time outside in every type of weather.
Observing the trees and touching the grass under their feet offers younger children new discoveries, while older ones are able to run, climb and dig.
Being able to move freely outdoors enables children to develop their balance and coordination, while building confidence in their own abilities.
Things can become messy. Dress your child in clothes suitable for mud, with outdoor layers suited to the weather.
Kindly label all their belongings, and our staff is always ready to clarify what children of their age should bring before they begin.
Practical learning via untidy activities
Paint, water, sand and mud provide children at our nursery near Chryston with plenty to investigate
Handling different textures, pouring water and making painted marks help them explore through their senses and discover fresh ways to express themselves.
Your child can try out an idea, watch the result and try again.
Our team encourages curiosity, giving children time to explore what captures their interest and helping them become confident in the discoveries they make for themselves.
Safeguarding and security for all child
Our nursery near Chryston has safe entry, with children watched over across the day.
Our team gets continuing training in safeguarding, in addition to instruction in first aid and health and safety.
We conduct routine risk assessments, maintain our fire safety equipment and perform checks for emergency lighting, water safety and electrical safety.
If a child has an accident, they receive immediate comfort and first aid as needed.
At collection, we will record and clarify every accident, while any head injury or injury requiring additional attention will result in an immediate telephone call to you.
Complimentary onboarding appointments provided by our group
At Viewpark, we suggest booking a minimum of three settling sessions before your child attends nursery for their first full day.
Every session is provided at no cost, and any further appointments will be arranged to suit your family’s needs.
You are welcome to remain for as long as needed, although we usually advise briefly stepping away, as this gives our friendly team and your child the chance to begin developing their own special bond.
Comforters and dummies are also welcome.

Popular queries about our kindergarten near Chrystonhurst
What the Montessori method represents at Viewpark Nursery
Originally founded as a Montessori nursery, we have retained its focus on independence, curiosity, respect and practical learning. Although we are no longer exclusively Montessori, we combine these principles with contemporary early years practice, adapting our approach to each child’s interests.
Do you have a nursery waiting list?
Child vacancies can vary throughout the year! Some rooms may have availability now, while others maintain a waiting list. Get in touch with us early, even if you will not need a place immediately.
Can someone other than me pick up my child?
Yes, as long as you inform us beforehand. Someone we have previously met may collect your child with your authorisation. However, if they are unfamiliar to us, they must provide the password we agreed on before we hand over your child.
Will my kid need to be potty trained for the Mighty Oaks group?
As children progress to Mighty Oaks, we generally ask that they are toilet trained. If your child has a medical condition or additional support needs, we will find the best approach with you.
At what time is the nursery unavailable?
We are closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, the final Monday in May, the September Weekend, and for two weeks during Christmas and New Year, scheduled as closely as possible around North Lanarkshire school holidays. Any additional closures are announced well in advance via our newsletters.
