Children playing in the nursery garden

For over 25 years, North Lanarkshire families have relied on Viewpark Montessori Nursery to help their children grow up settled and happy.

We take time to understand your child, from the routines that reassure them to the interests that ignite their curiosity. During play, they can pursue those interests with familiar adults nearby, gently supporting them as their independence starts to grow.

Our complimentary settling sessions enable you and your child to become familiar with us before attending their first full day.

We’ll talk with you when they’re ready to go into the next room, enabling each child to take this step at their own pace.

Little Acorns aged 6 weeks to 2 years

Little Acorns is a soothing, peaceful room where your baby can enjoy cuddling, floor play and first discoveries alongside people who make time to get to know them well.

Predictable mealtimes give the day with a reassuring rhythm, helping to establish a secure environment through morning snack at 8.30 am, lunch at 11.30 am and afternoon snack at 3.00 pm.

Around these, we respond to your baby’s needs, allowing time for playing and sleeping as needed.

When you collect your baby, we’ll explain their meals and sleep, then update you on the small moments you missed, helping you share in their day.

Bright Blossoms 2 to 3 years

At Bright Blossoms, curious toddlers receive ample encouragement to try things on their own.

During snack time, pouring drinks for themselves and locating their named peg offer small, manageable opportunities to practise independence, with support on hand whenever needed.

That same patience extends to toilet training. We follow your child’s cues and work with you to keep things consistent between home and nursery.

Minor accidents are a natural part of learning, and we respond calmly without causing needless concern.

Our caring service recognises that your child learns something new each day, and we support their progress at a pace that suits them.

Songs, stories and daily conversations assist children in exploring unfamiliar words. If you are concerned about your child’s talking, our facility will work with you to provide the best possible support for your child.

When emotions become overwhelming, we help children to identify, name and work through them.

Mighty Oaks designed for ages 3 up to 5 years

At Mighty Oaks, we help your child develop confidence for the transition to school and more formal education.

Daily achievements, such as putting their coat away or seeking assistance from an adult, enable them to practise managing tasks independently.

Joint play helps children build listening skills, practise taking turns and solve problems with their friends.

Through fun activities, children encounter stories, counting and early writing, allowing them to build such skills through playful learning.

The strong friendships made here often continue into P1, bringing a comforting sense of connection to this thrilling next step.

Running under the trees

A Montessori-style nursery in the vicinity of Condorrat

Viewpark’s Montessori inspired approach attaches importance to the learning which children pursue on their own.

We integrate this with modern early years practice, leaving room for outdoor discovery, imaginative play and the ideas children bring to nursery.

Nurturing self-sufficiency in childhood

Children are encouraged to make decisions and participate fully in nursery life, including helping to clear away after snacks and looking after their surroundings.

We give them room to practise, providing support whenever required, until they discover the confidence and quiet pride that comes from doing something for themselves.

Open-air play in every seasons

All year round, children head outdoors whatever the weather, even our youngest babies.

Observing the trees and feeling the grass beneath their feet gives younger children new discoveries, whilst older children have space to run, climb and dig.

As children move freely outdoors, each step strengthens their balance and coordination, while quietly building confidence in everything they can do.

Things can get messy! Put your child in clothes you do not mind seeing covered in mud, along with suitable outdoor layers for the conditions.

Label each of their belongings. Before they start, our team can advise you about appropriate for their age things to bring.

Hands-on learning by means of messy play

Within our nursery near Condorrat, children can explore paint, water, sand and mud in abundance.

Exploring different textures, pouring water and making painted marks supports sensory exploration whilst helping them discover fresh ways to express themselves.

Your child can try out an idea, watch the result and try again.

Our team nurtures curiosity and gives children time to stay engaged with whatever captures their interest, allowing them to build confidence in their own discoveries.

Care and protection for all child

The team gets ongoing safeguarding training, alongside first aid and health and safety training.

We carry out regular risk assessments and keep our fire safety equipment, emergency lighting, water safety and electrical safety checks up to date.

If a child has an accident, they get prompt comfort and first aid whenever this is necessary.

We document every accident and discuss it during collection. Any head bump or injury requiring additional attention prompts an immediate phone call to you.

Cost-free orientation meetings from our team

At Viewpark, we recommend that your child takes part in at least three settling sessions before attending their first full day at nursery.

Each session is free, and any additional appointments will be scheduled to suit your family’s needs.

You may stay for as long as necessary, although we generally recommend briefly stepping away, as this gives our welcoming team and your child the opportunity to begin developing their own special bond.

Comforters and dummies are also welcome.
