Children playing in the nursery garden

For more than 25 years, North North Lanarkshire families have trusted Viewpark Montessori Nursery to help their children feel secure and content as they grow.

We take time to get to know your child, from the routines that comfort them to the interests that spark their curiosity. During play, they can pursue those interests with familiar adults nearby, carefully supporting them as their independence begins to grow.

A childcare nursery by Glenmavis with 3 areas

Our three playrooms all provide children with space to flourish at their present stage, supported by thoughtful care and appropriate activities.

We will discuss with you when they are prepared to progress to the next room, enabling each child to progress at a pace that feels appropriate.

Little Acorns from the age of 6 weeks to 2 years

Little Acorns is a small calm room where your baby can have cuddles, floor play and early discoveries with people who know them well.

Routine mealtimes establish a reassuring daily rhythm and support a secure environment, with morning snack at 8.30 am, lunch at 11.30 am and afternoon snack at 3.00 pm.

During these periods, we respond to your baby’s needs, making time for play and sleep whenever they require it.

When you collect your little one, we will talk about their feeding and sleep, then share the small moments you missed, helping you feel included in their day.

Sitting in the sand tray

Bright Blossoms aged 2 to 3

At Bright Blossoms, curious toddlers are kindly encouraged to have a go themselves.

During snack time, pouring their own drinks and locating their named peg offer modest, manageable opportunities to practise independence, with support on hand whenever required.

This unhurried approach continues throughout toilet training. We respond to your child’s cues and work closely with you to preserve consistency between home and nursery.

We understand that small accidents naturally occur during learning, so we do not make an issue of it.

Every day offers your child a new discovery, and our caring service is here to help and guide them at a pace that feels right.

Songs and everyday conversations, along with stories, help children explore unfamiliar words. If you have concerns about your child’s speech, our facility will collaborate with you to provide the most effective support.

When emotions become overwhelming, we help children to recognise, name and process them.

Exploring the snow in the garden

Mighty Oaks designed for ages 3 up to 5 years

At Mighty Oaks, we support your child in building the confidence required to move on to school and progressively formal education.

Little daily successes, from hanging up a coat to asking an adult for help, build their confidence in managing things on their own.

Joint play teaches children to pay attention, wait for their turn and solve problems alongside their friends.

Children strengthen storytelling, counting and early writing skills through play, with these areas built into activities they enjoy.

Deep friendships built here frequently carry on into P1, offering familiarity at that significant next step.

Running under the trees

A Montessori childcare facility in the vicinity of Glenmavis

Viewpark’s Montessori inspired approach honours what children discover for themselves.

We pair this with modern early years practice, supporting outdoor discovery, creative play and the ideas children bring to nursery.

Fostering self-sufficiency at an early age

Children are urged to make decisions and take full part in nursery life, including helping to clear away after snacks and caring for their surroundings.

We give them room to practise, offering support whenever required, until they find the confidence and quiet pride that comes from doing something for themselves.

Outdoor play throughout every period of the year

Youngsters, including our youngest babies, are outdoors in all weathers all year round.

Observing the trees and feeling the grass beneath their feet offers younger children fresh discoveries, while older children can run, climb and dig.

As children move around freely outdoors, every step develops their balance and coordination, whilst quietly developing confidence in all they can do.

It could get messy! Dress your child in clothes you don’t mind getting muddy, with suitable outdoor layers to suit the weather.

Please label all belongings, whilst our personnel continue to be available to advise you on age-appropriate items ahead of their commencement date.

Interactive learning via creative play

Paint, water, sand and mud provide children at our nursery near Glenmavis with plenty to investigate

Experiencing varied textures, pouring water and creating painted marks supports sensory exploration whilst helping them to discover fresh ways to express themselves.

Your child is able to try out an idea, observe what happens and retry.

Our team encourages curiosity and provides them with time to pursue their interests, building confidence through discoveries they make on their own.

Care and welfare for each child

Located near Glenmavis, our nursery operates a secure access system, while children are supervised all day.

Our team receives continual training in safeguarding, as well as instruction in first aid and health and safety.

We conduct regular risk assessments and keep our fire safety equipment, emergency lighting, water safety and electrical safety checks up to date.

When a child is involved in an accident, staff provide immediate comfort and administer first aid if necessary.

We document each accident and discuss it during collection. Every head bump or injury requiring additional attention prompts an immediate phone call to you.

Gratis settling sessions from our team

At Viewpark, we advise at least three settling sessions prior to your child’s first full day at nursery.

Every session is free, and any additional appointments will be scheduled to suit your family’s needs.

You are welcome to remain for as long as needed, although we generally recommend briefly stepping away, as this allows our friendly team and your child to start developing their own special relationship.

Comforters and dummies are also warmly welcomed.
