Little Acorns ranging from 6 weeks to 2 years

Little Acorns offers a calm, comfortable setting for your baby to experience cuddles, floor play and early discoveries alongside familiar carers who know them well.

Consistent mealtimes create a comforting daily rhythm, helping to foster a secure environment, with morning snack at 8.30 am, lunch at 11.30 am and afternoon snack at 3.00 pm.

Around these, we respond to your baby’s needs, leaving time for playing and sleeping whenever necessary.

As you collect your baby, we will explain how they have eaten and slept, while sharing the small moments you have missed, allowing you to feel connected to their day.

Bright Blossoms aged 2 to 3

At Bright Blossoms, inquisitive toddlers receive plenty of encouragement to try things independently.

During snack time, pouring their own drinks and locating their named peg offer modest, manageable opportunities to practise being independent, with help on hand whenever needed.

This unhurried approach remains in place throughout toilet training. We respond to your child’s signals and work closely with you to preserve consistency between home and nursery.

Small accidents are a normal part of learning, so we consistently respond with calmness.

Our caring service understands that your little one learns something new each day, while we guide them at a pace that suits them.

Through songs, stories and everyday conversations, children discover the confidence to try out new words. If you feel concerned about your child’s speech, our facility will work with you to provide the support they need.

When emotions feel overwhelming, we support children to identify them and learn how to handle them.

Mighty Oaks for children aged 3 up to 5 years

At Mighty Oaks, we assist your child in developing the confidence needed to move on to school and progressively more formal education.

Daily successes, such as hanging up a coat or seeking help from an adult, help them practise managing tasks independently.

Joint play teaches children to listen, take turns and solve problems with their friends.

Children build storytelling, counting and early writing skills through play, with these areas built into activities they enjoy.

The close friendship ties formed here often continue into P1, bringing a reassuring sense of connection to this exciting next step.

Running under the trees

A Montessori-inspired nursery adjacent to Kilsyth

Viewpark’s Montessori inspired approach values what children discover independently.

We integrate this with modern early years practice, making room for outdoor exploration, creative play and the ideas children bring into nursery.

Growing self-reliance in childhood

Children are encouraged to make choices and take an active part in nursery life, helping to clear away after snacks and care for the environment around them.

We allow them time to practise, with support available whenever they need it, so they can experience the confidence that arises from doing something independently.

Outside play across every time of year

All year round, children, including the very youngest infants, spend time outside in all kinds of weather.

Watching the trees move and sensing the grass beneath their feet gives younger children new discoveries, while older children find space to run, climb and dig.

Time spent moving outdoors allows youngsters to develop their balance and coordination while developing confidence in their abilities.

Things can become messy! Put your child in clothes you do not mind becoming muddy, with suitable outdoor layers for the conditions.

Kindly label their possessions, and before they begin, our staff are always ready to explain what they should bring for their age.

Free onboarding sessions from our crew

At Viewpark, we recommend scheduling at least three settling sessions prior to your child attends their first complete day at nursery.

Every one of these appointments are free of charge, and we will schedule any additional appointments to suit your family’s needs.

You are welcome to stay for as long as you need, though we generally recommend stepping away for a short while, as this is where our friendly team and your child begin to form their own special relationship.

Quilts and dummies are also welcome.

Frequently asked queries about our early years facility near Kilsyth

What Montessori education means at Viewpark Nursery

Originally founded as a Montessori nursery, we have retained its focus on independence, curiosity, respect and practical learning. Although we are no longer exclusively Montessori, we combine these principles with contemporary early years practice, tailoring our approach to each child’s interests.

Do you have a nursery waiting list?

Availability for children differs throughout the year. Some rooms might have immediate vacancies, while others may maintain waiting lists. Please contact us early, even if you do not require a place immediately.

May another person collect my kid?

Certainly, as long as you inform us beforehand. Anyone we know already may collect your child with your consent. If the person is unfamiliar to us, they must give us the password you have arranged with us before we hand over your child.

Does my child have got to be independent in the toilet for the Mighty Oaks class?

As a general expectation, children moving into Mighty Oaks are expected to be toilet trained. However, if your child has a medical condition or additional support needs, we will agree the most suitable approach with you.

At what time is the nursery out of service?

We are closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, the last Monday in May, the September Weekend, and for two weeks across Christmas and New Year, timed as closely as possible around North Lanarkshire school holidays. Any additional closures will be announced well in advance through our newsletters.
