Sitting in the sand tray

Bright Blossoms 2-3 years old

At Bright Blossoms, inquisitive toddlers are eagerly encouraged to try things independently!

Pouring drinks for themselves during snack time and finding their named peg offer straightforward, manageable opportunities to practise independence, with support available when required.

That same patient approach extends to toilet training. We follow your child’s cues and collaborate with you to maintain consistency between home and nursery.

Minor mishaps are anticipated during learning, so we do not ever overreact.

Our supportive service recognises that your little one discovers something new every day, while we guide them at a pace that works for them.

Through songs, stories and everyday conversations, children discover the confidence to explore unfamiliar words. If you are concerned about your child’s speech, our facility will work with you to offer the support they need.

When emotions become too intense, we support children recognise, understand, and process them.

Exploring the snow in the garden

Mighty Oaks for children aged 3 to 5 yrs

At Mighty Oaks, we assist your child in developing the confidence needed to progress into school and progressively more formal education.

Everyday successes, including putting away their coat or seeking assistance from an adult, help them practise managing tasks independently.

Joint play helps children build listening skills, exercise taking turns and resolve problems with their friends.

Through engaging play, children discover stories, counting and early writing, building these skills while enjoying themselves.

Close friendships formed here frequently continue into P1, providing reassurance during that important transition.

Running under the trees

A Montessori nursery close to Mollinsburn

Viewpark’s Montessori inspired method prioritises the learning children achieve on their own.

We combine this with contemporary early years practice, making room for outdoor exploration, creative play and the ideas children bring to nursery.

Nurturing independence from an early stage

Children are encouraged to make decisions and participate actively in nursery life, from tidying away after snacks to caring for their surroundings.

We give them time to practise, offering assistance whenever required, so they can feel the confidence of achieving something independently.

Open-air play during every time of year

Throughout the year, little ones go outdoors whatever the weather, even our youngest infants.

Observing the trees and feeling the grass beneath their feet gives younger children with fresh details to discover, while older children can run, climb and dig at will.

Time spent moving outside enables children to develop balance and coordination while developing greater confidence in their own abilities.

Things can get messy! Put your child in clothes you are happy to see covered in mud, along with suitable outdoor layers for the conditions.

Kindly label all their belongings, and our staff is always prepared to clarify what children of their age should bring before they begin.

At our nursery near Mollinsburn, children can explore the limitless possibilities of paint, water, sand and mud.

Touching varied textures, experimenting with water and creating painted marks encourages sensory discovery and offers fresh ways for them to communicate.

Your child can test an idea, see the outcome, then retry.

Our team encourages curiosity, allowing children time to explore subjects that engage them and build confidence in what they discover independently.

Our team receives ongoing safeguarding training, alongside first aid and health and safety instruction.

We conduct regular risk assessments and keep our fire safety equipment, emergency lighting, water safety and electrical safety checks up to date.

At collection, we will record and describe every accident, while any head injury or injury needing additional attention will be communicated to you by telephone straight away.

Cost-free settling consultations from our group

At Viewpark, we recommend scheduling at least three settling sessions prior to your child attends their first full day at nursery.

Every session is provided at no cost, and any further appointments will be arranged to suit your family’s needs.

You’re welcome to stay for as long as you require, although we usually recommend stepping away for a short while, as this is where our friendly team and your child begin to form their own special relationship.

Comforters and dummies are also accepted.

Often raised questions about our early years centre near Mollinsburn

What Montessori education means at Viewpark Nursery

We began as a Montessori nursery, retaining its focus on independence, curiosity, respect and hands-on learning. While we are no longer exclusively Montessori, we combine these principles with contemporary early years practice, tailoring our approach to every child’s interests.

Do you have a nursery waiting list?

Child vacancies fluctuate over the year. Some rooms may have spaces available, while others run waiting lists. Get in touch with us in advance, even if you do not require a place immediately.

Can another person retrieve my son or daughter?

Yes, as long as you inform us beforehand. Any person we know already may pick up your child with your permission. If the person is unfamiliar to us, they must provide the password you have agreed with us before we hand over your child.

Do my youngster must be able to use the loo for the Mighty Oaks programme?

We generally expect children progressing to Mighty Oaks to be toilet trained. If your child lives with a medical condition or additional support needs, we’ll collaborate with you to agree the best approach.

At which times is the nursery not open?

We shut on Good Friday and Easter Monday, the last Monday in May, the September Weekend, plus two weeks over Christmas and New Year, aligned as closely as possible with North Lanarkshire school holidays. Any extra closures are shared well in advance through our newsletters.
