Stories, counting and early writing become part of the activities they love, enabling these key skills to thrive naturally through play.
Deep friendships developed here frequently continue into P1, providing familiarity at that significant next step.

A inspired Montessori early years centre near Morningside
Viewpark’s Montessori inspired philosophy places particular importance on children’s independent learning.
We integrate this with contemporary early years practice, providing room for outdoor exploration, creative play as well as the ideas children bring to nursery.
Nurturing self-sufficiency from the outset
Children are supported in making choices and contributing to nursery life by clearing away after snacks and caring for their surroundings.
We give them enough time to practise, with support available whenever required, so they are able to enjoy the confidence gained from accomplishing something independently.
Open-air play in all season
Children, including our youngest babies, enjoy time outdoors all year round, whatever the weather.
Observing the trees and feeling the grass under their feet provides younger children with new details to discover, while older children can run, scramble and dig at will.
Time spent being active outside helps children to develop balance and coordination whilst building greater confidence in their own abilities.
It may become messy, so dress your child in clothing you do not mind getting muddy, with suitable outdoor layers for the weather.
Kindly mark all belongings, while our staff continue to be available to clarify what is appropriate to bring for their age before they start.

What the Montessori approach stands for at Viewpark Nursery
Originally founded as a Montessori nursery, we still uphold its principles of independence, curiosity, respect and practical learning. Although we are no longer solely Montessori, we blend these principles with contemporary early years practice, tailoring our approach to each child’s interests.
Do you have a nursery waiting list?
Child vacancies can change across the year! Some rooms may have availability now, while others maintain a waiting list. Contact us early, even if you will not require a place straight away.
May someone else person pick up my child?
Yes, provided you inform us in advance. If we already know the person, they may collect your child with your permission. If we do not know them, they must provide the password you have agreed with us before we hand over your child.
Does my kid need to be toilet trained for Mighty Oaks?
As children move up to Mighty Oaks, we generally ask that they are toilet trained. If your child has a medical condition or additional support needs, we will find the most suitable approach with you.
At which point is the nursery out of service?
We are closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, the final Monday in May, the September Weekend, and for two weeks during Christmas and New Year, scheduled as closely as possible around North Lanarkshire school holidays. Any further closures are announced well ahead of time through our newsletters.
