Frequently posed questions about our early years school in the vicinity of Mossend
Exactly what does the term Montessori refer to at Viewpark Nursery?
Originally established as a Montessori nursery, we have maintained its focus on independence, curiosity, respect and practical learning. While we are no longer exclusively Montessori, we combine these principles with contemporary early years practice, adapting our approach to each child’s interests.
Do you have a nursery waiting list?
The availability for child places varies across the year. Some rooms may have immediate vacancies, while others operate a waiting list. We suggest contacting us early, even if you do not require a place straight away.
Can someone else to person retrieve my child?
Yes, provided you notify us beforehand. Someone we have met previously may pick up your child with your authorisation. However, if they are unfamiliar to us, they must provide the password we agreed on before we hand over your child.
Will my child need to be independent in the toilet for Mighty Oaks programme?
As young people move into Mighty Oaks, we normally expect them to be toilet trained. Nevertheless, if your child has a medical condition or additional support needs, we will agree the most suitable approach with you.
On which days is the nursery shut?
Our doors close on Good Friday and Easter Monday, the final Monday in May, the September Weekend, and for two weeks over Christmas and New Year, coinciding as closely as possible with North Lanarkshire school holidays. We announce any further closures well in advance through our newsletters.
