Motherwell Nursery

Give your child a confident start with Montessori inspired care from six weeks to five years.

Children playing in the nursery garden

For more than 25 years, North Lanarkshire families have trusted Viewpark Montessori Nursery to nurture children who feel safe and happy as they develop.

We spend time understanding your child, including the routines that reassure them and the topics that pique their curiosity. During play, they can follow these interests while familiar adults remain close, supporting them as they gain greater independence.

Complimentary settling sessions enable you and your child to get to know us prior to your child’s first full day.

If you are looking for a nursery near Motherwell, meet our local team, explore the playrooms and decide whether Viewpark suits your family.

A day nursery by Motherwell with three spaces

Our three playrooms each offer children with space to thrive at their present stage, supported by care and activities tailored to their needs.

We will talk about the appropriate time for your child to move to the next room, enabling them to progress at a pace that works for them.

Little Acorns aged 6 weeks to 2 years

Little Acorns is a little tranquil room where your baby can enjoy cuddles, floor play and early discoveries with people who are familiar with them.

Consistent mealtimes provide a comforting daily routine, helping to create a safe environment, with morning snack at 8.30 am, lunch at 11.30 am and afternoon snack at 3.00 pm.

Throughout, we respond to your baby’s needs, making space for play and allowing them to sleep whenever they need it.

When you pick up your baby, we’ll describe their meals and sleep, then update you on the small moments you missed, helping you take part in their day.

Sitting in the sand tray

Bright Blossoms 2 to 3 years

At Bright Blossoms, curious toddlers are given plentiful encouragement to try things on their own.

At snack time, filling their own drinks and locating their named peg provide straightforward, manageable chances to build independence, while support remains available whenever needed.

The same patience continues throughout toilet training. We follow your child’s signals and collaborate closely with you, creating consistency between home and nursery.

Small accidents are simply part of learning, so we don’t ever make a fuss!

Our supportive service acknowledges that your little one learns something new daily, while we guide them with care at a pace that suits them.

Via songs, stories and everyday conversations, children discover the confidence to try out new words. If you are concerned about your child’s speech, our facility will work with you to offer the support they require.

When emotions become overwhelming, we support children to recognise, name and process them.

Exploring the snow in the garden

Mighty Oaks for ages 3 through 5 years old

At Mighty Oaks, we help your child to develop the confidence needed to move on to school and progressively more formal education.

Everyday accomplishments, including putting away a coat or seeking assistance from an adult, support children develop the confidence and skills to handle tasks on their own.

Shared play helps children build listening skills, exercise taking turns and resolve problems with their friends.

Stories, counting and early writing are integrated into activities they enjoy, enabling them to build these skills through playing.

The close friendship ties formed here often carry into P1, bringing a reassuring sense of familiarity to this exciting next stage.

Running under the trees

A Montessori style nursery adjacent to Motherwell

Viewpark’s Montessori inspired philosophy attaches particular importance to children’s independent learning.

We blend this with contemporary early years practice, making room for outdoor exploration, creative play and the ideas children bring to nursery.

Nurturing self-sufficiency from the beginning

Children are encouraged to make choices and take an active role in nursery life, from clearing away after snacks to looking after their surroundings.

We allow them adequate time to practise, with support available whenever needed, so they are able to enjoy the confidence gained from achieving something on their own.

Outside play for all season

Children, including our youngest babies, like being outdoors in all weather throughout the year.

Observing the trees and touching the grass under their feet gives younger children fresh discoveries, while older children are able to run, climb and dig.

Time spent being active outdoors enables youngsters to develop their balance and coordination while building confidence in what they can do.

Things can become delightfully messy! Please clothe your child in clothes suitable for mud, together with outdoor layers appropriate for the weather.

Kindly label all belongings, while our staff continue to be available to advise you about age-appropriate items before their commencement date.

Practical learning via creative play

At our nursery close to Motherwell, children can explore paint, water, sand and mud in endless exciting ways!

As they experience varied textures, pour water and make marks using paint, they explore using their senses and discover fresh ways to express themselves.

Your child can test an idea, observe the outcome and try once more.

Our staff fosters curiosity and gives them time to explore their interests, developing confidence through discoveries they make on their own.

Nurturing and welfare for every child

Our team is provided with ongoing safeguarding training, alongside first aid and health and safety instruction.

We carry out regular risk assessments and keep our fire safety equipment, emergency lighting, water safety and electrical safety checks up to date.

If a child has an accident, staff provide immediate comfort and administer first aid if necessary.

Upon collection, we will document and describe every accident, whereas any bump to the head or injury needing further attention will prompt an immediate call to you.

Free adjustment sessions from our experts

At Viewpark, we suggest that your child takes part in a minimum of three settling sessions before spending their first full day at nursery.

Every session is provided at no cost, and any additional appointments will be scheduled to suit your family’s needs.

You are welcome to remain for as long as you need, though we generally recommend stepping away for a short while, as this is where our friendly team and your child start forming their own special bond.

Comforters and dummies are also welcome.
