Every one of our three playrooms gives children room to enjoy their current stage, with care and activities adapted to their needs.

We will talk about when they are ready to move into the next room, making sure each child takes this step at their own pace.

Little Acorns from the age of 6 weeks to 2 years

Little Acorns is a small peaceful room where your baby can enjoy cuddles, floor play and early discoveries with people who know them well.

Consistent mealtimes establish a reassuring day-to-day rhythm, helping foster a secure environment, with morning snack at 8.30 am, lunch at 11.30 am and afternoon snack at 3.00 pm.

Within this rhythm, we respond to your baby’s cues, making room for play and allowing sleep whenever necessary.

When you pick up your baby, we’ll explain their meals and sleep, then update you on the little moments you missed, helping you share in their day.

Bright Blossoms 2 to 3 years

At Bright Blossoms, inquisitive toddlers get strong support to try things independently.

Pouring their own drinks at snack-time and locating their named peg offer simple, achievable opportunities to practise independence, with support available when necessary.

This patient approach remains in place throughout toilet training. We respond to your child’s signals and work closely with you to maintain consistency between home and nursery.

Minor accidents are just part of learning, so we don’t ever make a fuss!

Our caring service recognises that your little one learns something new every day, and we support their progress at a pace that works for them.

Songs, stories and daily conversations assist children in exploring unfamiliar words. If you are concerned about your child’s talking, our facility will collaborate with you to provide the best possible support for your child.

When emotions feel overpowering, we support children to identify them and learn to handle them.

Mighty Oaks designed for ages 3 – 5 years

At Mighty Oaks, we nurture your child’s self-confidence, getting them ready for the journey into school and the more formal world of education.

Everyday successes, such as putting away a coat or asking an adult, support them develop managing tasks independently.

When children play together, they practise listening, sharing turns and solving problems with their friends.

Children strengthen storytelling, counting and early writing skills through play, with these areas included in activities they like.

Strong friendships formed here often carry into P1, which makes that important next step feel familiar.

Running under the trees

A Montessori-inspired nursery near Queenzieburn

Viewpark’s Montessori inspired method prioritises the learning children achieve on their own.

Along with modern early years practice, we provide space for children to explore outside, play imaginatively and shape nursery life with their own ideas.

Cultivating individuality from the outset

Children are encouraged to make decisions and take an active role in nursery life, from clearing away after snack time to looking after their surroundings.

We give them time to practise, offering support as required, so they can feel the confidence gained through achieving something independently.

Outside play in all times of the year

All year round, children go outdoors whatever the weather, even our youngest infants.

Noticing the trees and feeling the grass under their feet gives younger children with fresh details to discover, while older children can run, climb and dig freely.

When children move freely outside, each step enhances their balance and coordination, whilst quietly building confidence in everything they can do.

Things can become wonderfully messy! Please dress your child in clothes appropriate for mud, together with outdoor layers appropriate for the weather.

Please label all their possessions, and our team is always prepared to explain what children of their age should bring before they start.

What the Montessori approach signifies at Viewpark Nursery

Originally founded as a Montessori nursery, we continue to uphold its principles of independence, curiosity, respect and practical learning. Although we are no longer exclusively Montessori, we combine these principles with contemporary early years practice, tailoring our approach to each child’s interests.

Do you have a nursery waiting list?

Child vacancies fluctuate throughout the year. Some rooms may have places available, while others run waiting lists. Contact us in advance, even if you do not require a place straight away.

Can an additional person pick up my child?

Certainly, provided you inform us in advance. Anyone we know already may pick up your child with your consent. If the person is unknown to us, they must give us the password you have agreed with us before we release your child.

Will my child have to be able to use the loo for Mighty Oaks class?

As young people enter Mighty Oaks, we normally expect them to be toilet trained. Nevertheless, if your child has a medical condition or additional support needs, we will agree the most suitable approach with you.

At which point is the nursery not open?

We are closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, the final Monday in May, the September Weekend, and for two weeks over Christmas and New Year, aligning as closely as possible with North Lanarkshire school holidays. Any further closures are shared well in advance through our newsletters.
